The original Arabella Chapman albums are preserved at the William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan. The library is home to original resources for the study of American history and culture from the fifteenth through the nineteenth centuries. It’s mission is to collect and preserve primary source materials, to make them available for research, and to support scholarly investigation into our nation’s past.
Special thanks to Curator of Graphics Clayton Lewis and Conservator Julie Fremuth for their work on documenting the Chapman albums.
Researchers who would like to work directly with the albums or reproduce its images can consult the related finding aid and contact the Clements Library for high resolution images and permissions.
